I've been walking over here to get carry-out on my lunch hour for years. It's more of a convenience issue than a good food issue. Gotta admit, though, I am a sucker for their French fries. Yum!

Very slow service, but the food comes quickly. It's your typical Coney Island restaurant, I got the gyro and it was good. With a side of chili cheese fries. And yes to be healthy got a glass a water! Had to wait about 5 mins to get extra napkins. As they only give you one with your silver wear and they have a napkin dispenser at the tables.

Not too shabby... Typically all Coney Islands are the same. Carbon copies of menus, service and tastes. I've been here a bunch of times, none of which were super memorable. However, my most recent visit was kinda fun. I took my grandmother who is hard to please when it comes to eating out. She walked away content, no small feat considering aforementioned. I was also pleased. I tried the coney combo; a mini greek, fries and a coney for less than $7. The coney was good, fresh bun, tasty chili and the fries were perfectly crisp. Service was great as well. Our waitress, bless her heart, probably went to high school with Jesus; but it didn't stop her from making sure my coffee cup was full and the food was okay. Other visits have been great as well. If no bad experiences come to mind then, its all good in my book. Like I said, this Coney is no different from others, but it definitely has a spot on my Coney Island rotation.

The food is decent but the reason I only get 1 star is because of the prices. Today it cost me close to $13 just for a small greek salad with grilled chicken and a diet coke. Ridiculous. Won't be going back.

I live and work less than three miles away from Hercules, so its location is amazing for me. I have visited at least a dozen times, but my last experience was so terrible that I will not be back, and I discourage anyone who asks about local food and tell them to stay away! Their menu is reasonable, and the food is always served quickly. The issue I had was with the terrible service. I stopped in to place a to go order of french fries and one coney without onions, and told the "man" (young guy, teenager or early 20s) that I would be right back to pick it up after I ran into Hallmark for a card. He told me that the order would not take long, and that I could wait, but I said "Thanks, but I'll just be a minute". I ran next door, came back, and picked up my order. The "man" (boy) who took my order was snickering behind the register and the equally young and immature "men" (boys) were laughing in the kitchen. I paid and left. I didn't realize until I got home that I did receive a coney without onions, but the kitchen had put at least an entire cup of chopped onions on my french fries. There is no way that they misunderstood my order - they were playing a childish prank. I'm not sure if this is a family run business or not, but the management needs to have a talk with their very young and rude staff about professionalism and how to treat customers. There are too many food choices in the area for me to go to a place with such poor employees, or to recommend it to anyone else. That silly prank cost them a regular customer and good word of mouth.

Hercules was pretty good. The service was friendly enough. Our waitress was nice and engaged in friendly conversation. The bus "man" started removing plates from the table before asking if we were done. Not cool. The saginaki was fabulous!!!! Didn't care for the bread it was served with. It tasted like old pita bread. The spinach pie was horrible!!!! It was so bad we took it back. The waitress explained that they cook it in the morning and microwave it as it is ordered. Someone needs to tell the chef that you can't microwave phyllo. The salad was really good. Simple iceberg lettuce with an olive or two. For some reason it tasted really good. Maybe it was because I had the spinach pie right before. The gyro was large and tasty. It fed two of us. The coney island...skip it. Hot dog was lukewarm and the bun dry and old. Yuck!! All in all this place was ok. I would return out of convenience and not quality.

I had standard Greek fare..the chicken lemon soup and gyros sandwich with rice (props to them for not making me choose french fries) BUT the coffee cup had a lipstick stain on it..the waitress changed it out but you only make THAT mistake with Me Once!

Overall, Hercules is a good place to stop for a quick meal. Always clean, friendly staff and hot food. They make great patty melts, and the chocolate chip pancakes are my favorite. Would have been five stars but once in awhile the chili on the coneys is a bit burnt and dry.
